Courses

I now have four online courses running at the Center for Wildlife Studies:

Sampling and Experimental Design This course provides a thorough overview of the principles and techniques that are vital for designing a good research study, both obsefvational and experimental. The course starts on 1st March 2023.

Generalised Linear Models This course provides an introduction to a large class of statistical models that are useful in ecology, including models for normal data, proportions and counts. There is emphasis on both understanding the theory and using the methods in RStudio. This course starts on 1st June 2023.

Bayesian Statistics in Ecology This course provides an introduction to Bayesian data analysis. There is an emphasis on the flexibility this provides in the types of models that can be used, and plenty of hands-on experience using rjags in RStudio. This course starts on 2nd January 2023 without instructor support, and 1st March 2023 with instructor suppport.

Model Averaging in Ecology This course is based on my book and provides an up-to-date overview of the topic, from both the Bayesian and frequentist perspective, including methods such as bagging and stacking. There is emphasis on both understanding the theory and using the methods in RStudio. This course can be taken at any time.
